On possible `cosmic ray cocoons' of relativistic jets [PDF]
We consider effects on an (ultra-) relativistic jet and its ambient medium caused by high energy cosmic rays accelerated at the jet side boundary. As illustrated by simple models, during the acceleration process a flat cosmic ray distribution can be ...

This study investigates the tribological response of 60NiTi alloy under dry, water‐lubricated and high‐temperature conditions. The alloy exhibits decreasing wear volume and friction with increasing temperature due to the formation of protective oxide layers. The work clarifies dominant wear mechanisms and demonstrates the suitability of 60NiTi for high‐

Ambient Pressure X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy [PDF]
X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is one of most thoroughly used surface science techniques, which provides information on chemical states of both adsorbates and substrates on the basis of core-level shifts of photoelectrons excited primarily with X-rays.

Analysis on the Factors Affecting the Degree of Superheat in Wet Plume Elimination
The demand for industrial wet plume elimination has been rising sharply in the current environmental protection strategy. In this paper the influence of environmental conditions are analyzed quantitatively and comprehensively, such as ambient temperature,

Anomalous metallicity and electronic phase separation in the CsC60 polymerized fulleride
133Cs and 13C-NMR have been used to study the electronic properties of the polymerized phase of CsC60 at ambient and under hydrostatic pressure. The salient result of this study is the finding of fluctuations in the local field at 133Cs site which are ...

High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Thermodynamic Studies on Non Centrosymmetric Superconductors by AC Calorimetry under High Pressures
We investigated the non centrosymmetric superconductors CePt$_3$Si and UIr by the ac heat capacity measurement under pressures. We determined the pressure phase diagrams of these compounds.

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

First-principles Study of High-Pressure Phase Stability and Superconductivity of Bi4I4
Bismuth iodide Bi4I4 exhibits intricate crystal structures and topological insulating states that are highly susceptible to influence by environments, making its physical properties highly tunable by external conditions.
