Cross-reactivity between antigens from Amblyomma cajennense and A. hebraeum (Acari : Ixodidae)
Laboratory animals exposed to feeding ticks develop resistance which is reflected by a decline in tick engorgement weight, egg-laying by adults and reduced egg viability. Serum antibodies from these hosts and their reaction with tick antigens have been detected by different methods, including precipitation techniques, immunofluorescent techniques ...

Structural basis of chemokine recognition by the class A3 tick evasin EVA‐ACA1001
Abstract Ticks produce chemokine‐binding proteins, known as evasins, in their saliva to subvert the host's immune response. Evasins bind to chemokines and thereby inhibit the activation of their cognate chemokine receptors, thus suppressing leukocyte recruitment and inflammation.

Abstract The recent recognition of a syndrome of tick‐acquired mammalian meat allergy has transformed the previously held view that mammalian meat is an uncommon allergen. The syndrome, mediated by IgE antibodies against the oligosaccharide galactose‐alpha‐1,3‐galactose (alpha‐gal), can also involve reactions to visceral organs, dairy, gelatin and ...

Artificial feeding of Amblyomma cajennense (Acari: Ixodidae) fasting females through capillary tube technique [PDF]
