Overexpression of Anti-müllerian Hormone Gene in vivo Affects Gonad Sex Differentiation in Undifferentiated Orange-Spotted Groupers (Epinephelus coioides)

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2019
Sex differentiation in teleost fishes occurs in response to sex determination signals, which induce the gonad to develop as either an ovary or testis. However, sex differentiation mechanisms in fishes are diverse, and information on gonad differentiation

AMH as the primary marker for fertility [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Endocrinology, 2019
In women, the anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is secreted by the granulosa cells of growing follicles. Its measurement is strongly correlated with antral follicle count and represents a reliable marker of ovarian reserve. It also has the advantage of being highly reproducible since it has little variation within and between cycles.

Molecular Mechanisms of AMH Signaling

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2022
Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) is a secreted glycoprotein hormone with critical roles in reproductive development and regulation. Its chemical and mechanistic similarities to members of the Transforming Growth Factor β (TGF-β) family have led to its placement within this signaling family.

A duplicated amh is the master sex-determining gene for Sebastes rockfish in the Northwest Pacific

open access: yesOpen Biology, 2021
Teleost fish are the most diverse group of vertebrates and provide opportunities to study the evolution of sex determination (SD) systems. Using genomic and functional analyses, we identified a male-specific duplication of anti-Müllerian hormone (amh ...

AMH in PCOS

open access: yesCurrent Opinion in Endocrine and Metabolic Research, 2020
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a very heterogeneous disease of which the exact pathophysiological mechanisms remain unknown. In PCOS, serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels are significantly increased. AMH is a member of the transforming growth factor β family and is expressed by growing follicles in the ovaries.

Can Anti-Müllerian hormone predict the diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome? : A systematic review and meta-analysis of extracted data

open access: yes, 2013
Context: Existing biochemical tests for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) have poor sensitivity and specificity. Many women with PCOS have high anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) concentrations; thus, this may be a useful addition to the diagnostic criteria ...
