The Edelstein effect in the presence of impurity spin-orbit scattering [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
In this paper we study the current-induced spin polarization in a two-dimensional electron gas, known also as the Edelstein effect. Compared to previous treatments, we consider both the Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit interaction as well as the spin-orbit interaction from impurity scattering.

Alleviation of Aging‐Related Hallmarks in a Mouse Model of Progeria via a Nanoparticle‐Based Artificial Transcription Factor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oct4‐nanoscript, a biomimetic nanoparticle‐based artificial transcription factor, precisely regulates cellular rejuvenation by activating Oct4 target genes, restoring epigenetic marks, and reducing DNA damage. In a progeria model, it effectively rescued aging‐associated pathologies and extended lifespan.

Improving Computational Efficiency in DSMC Simulations of Vacuum Gas Dynamics with a Fixed Number of Particles per Cell [PDF]

open access: yes
The present study addresses the challenge of enhancing computational efficiency without compromising accuracy in numerical simulations of vacuum gas dynamics using the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method. A technique termed "fixed particle per cell (FPPC)" was employed, which enforces a fixed number of simulator particles across all ...

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.
