On the possible origin and evolution of genetic coding [PDF]
To synthesize peptides alongside the RNAs making the so-called RNA world, some genetic coding involving RNA had to develop. Herein, it is proposed that the first real-coding setup was a direct one, made up of continuous poly-tRNA-like molecules, with each tRNA-like moiety carrying, beyond and near its 5 prime or 3 prime end, a trinucleotide site for ...

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalysis
This review provides an overview of recent advances in covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for photocatalysis, focusing on sustainable energy applications like water splitting, hydrogen peroxide generation, and CO2 and N2 reduction. It discusses design principles, structure‐function relationships, challenges in COF photocatalysis, and strategies to ...

Transferrin-polycation conjugates as carriers for DNA uptake into cells. [PDF]
We have developed a high-efficiency nucleic acid delivery system that uses receptor-mediated endocytosis to carry DNA macromolecules into cells. We accomplished this by conjugating the iron-transport protein transferrin to polycations that bind nucleic ...

This review explores how in situ and operando spectroscopic techniques reveal the real‐time behavior of reticular materials, including MOFs and COFs. These methods track material formation and functionalization, structural changes, defect formation, dynamic responses to external triggers, and catalytic processes.

Comparison of metal-amino acid interaction in Phe-Ag and Tyr-Ag complexes by spectroscopic measurements [PDF]
In this article, we have compared the metal-amino acid interactions in Tyr-Ag and Phe-Ag complexes through pH dependent SERS measurements. By analyzing the variation in relative intensities of SERS bands with the pH of the amino acid solution, we have obtained the orientation and conformation of the amino acid molecules on the Ag surface.

This study proposes tribenzyl organic cation carried multidentate X‐type Lewis soft base to enhance adhesion and passivate defects simultaneously, aiming to achieve foldable and efficient perovskite nanocrystal‐based light‐emitting diodes. The resulting pure red F‐PeLEDs exhibit a recorded high EQE of 16.2% and robust mechanical properties to endure ...

Electrospun polyvinyl alcohol/carbon dioxide modified polyethyleneimine composite nanofiber scaffolds [PDF]
A novel biocompatible polyvinyl alcohol/carbon dioxide modified polyethyleneimine (PVA/PEI-CO2) composite nanofiber was fabricated by a green and facile protocol, which reduces the cytotoxicity of PEI through the surface modification of the PEI with CO2.

Sequencing proteins with transverse ionic transport in nanochannels [PDF]
{\it De novo} protein sequencing is essential for understanding cellular processes that govern the function of living organisms and all post-translational events and other sequence modifications that occur after a protein has been constructed from its corresponding DNA code.

State‐of‐the‐Art, Insights, and Perspectives for MOFs‐Nanocomposites and MOF‐Derived (Nano)Materials
Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.

The ins and outs of metal homeostasis by the root nodule actinobacterium Frankia [PDF]
Background: Frankia are actinobacteria that form a symbiotic nitrogen-fixing association with actinorhizal plants, and play a significant role in actinorhizal plant colonization of metal contaminated areas.
