The physiological target for LeuRS translational quality control is norvaline [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The fidelity of protein synthesis depends on the capacity of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases (AARSs) to couple only cognate amino acid-tRNA pairs. If amino acid selectivity is compromised, fidelity can be ensured by an inherent AARS editing activity that ...

Dual targeting of isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase in Trypanosoma brucei is mediated through alternative trans-splicing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases catalyze the aminoacylation of tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. They are an essential part of each translation system and in eukaryotes are therefore found in both the cytosol and mitochondria. Thus, eukaryotes either have

Monitoring protein interactions and dynamics with solvatochromic fluorophores [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Solvatochromic fluorophores possess emission properties that are sensitive to the nature of the local microenvironment. These dyes have been exploited in applications ranging from the study of protein structural dynamics to the detection of protein ...

A minimal biochemical route towards de novo formation of synthetic phospholipid membranes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
All living cells consist of membrane compartments, which are mainly composed of phospholipids. Phospholipid synthesis is catalyzed by membrane-bound enzymes, which themselves require pre-existing membranes for function.

WDR5‐H3K4me3 Epigenetic Axis Promotes TRMT6‐Dependent tRNA M1A Modification to Facilitate Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Progression by Suppressing Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 11, 23 February 2026.
Upregulated TRMT6 forms aberrant hypermethylation of a specific tRNA pool and serves as a predictor of poor prognosis in TNBC. This m1A modification in tRNAs enhances translation of FTH1 and FTL, reducing the pool of bioavailable Fe2⁺. Reduced Fe2+ availability impairs RSL3‐induced lipid peroxidation and tumor progression.

tRNA 3\u27-amino-tailing for stable amino acid attachment. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Amino acids are attached to the tRNA 3\u27-end as a prerequisite for entering the ribosome for protein synthesis. Amino acid attachment also gives tRNA access to nonribosomal cellular activities.

Genetic Code: A New Understanding of Codon - Amino Acid Assignment

open access: yes, 2006
In this work it is shown that 20 canonical amino acids (AAs) within genetic code appear to be a whole system with strict AAs positions; more exactly, with AAs ordinal number in three variants; first variant 00-19, second 00-21 and third 00-20.

A Comprehensive Review of Acne Treatments: Unpacking the Chemical Structures and Effective Bioactive Compounds

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Acne vulgaris is a frequent skin disorder, affecting a large part of the population worldwide, and strongly influencing not only the physical but also the mental aspects of health. The choice of therapy for acne vulgaris is a very difficult one because the multifactorial causality of the disease and interindividual ...

Insights Into circRNA‐Mediated Lipid Metabolism in Cancer Progression

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 3, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Lipid metabolism reprogramming is one of the most prominent characteristics of cancer, but it is still unclear which regulatory pathways underlie this process in cancer cells. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) represent a novel category of non‐coding RNAs with multifaceted regulatory functions. While the biological roles of circRNAs in cancer have been

Genome‐Wide Association Study and RNA Sequencing Identify Candidate Genes Regulating Nitrogen Use Efficiency and Associated Traits in Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench)

open access: yesFood and Energy Security, Volume 15, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) is a resilient cereal crop with remarkable adaptability to diverse environments. Nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) is critical for improving sorghum yields, resource utilization, livelihood security, and environmental sustainability of the target ecologies.
