Conformational and vibrational study of 4-aminohippuric acid

open access: yes, 2023
The molecular vibrations of 4-aminohippuric acid (PAH) were investigated in polycrystalline sample by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy. The quantum chemical calculations based on Density Functional Theory (DFT) are used to determine the geometrical, energetic and vibrational characteristics of the molecule.

Unraveling the functional role of the orphan solute carrier, SLC22A24 in the transport of steroid conjugates through metabolomic and genome-wide association studies. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Variation in steroid hormone levels has wide implications for health and disease. The genes encoding the proteins involved in steroid disposition represent key determinants of interindividual variation in steroid levels and ultimately, their effects ...

Pyruvate Transport in Isolated Cardiac Mitochondria from two Species of Amphibian Exhibiting Dissimilar Aerobic Scope: Bufo Marinus and Rana Catesbeiana

open access: yes, 2007
Cardiac mitochondria were isolated from Bufo marinus and Rana catesbeiana, two species of amphibian whose cardiovascular systems are adapted to either predominantly aerobic or glycolytic modes of locomotion.

Evaluation of p-aminohippurate as a marker for blood-flow determinations in cattle [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
P-aminohippurate (PAH) was evaluated as a potential blood-flow marker in steers for use in trans-organ balance studies. Because of problems in methods available for PAH determination, a high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) procedure was developed ...

The Role of Preservation in Transplantation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Although it is too early to draw any definite conclusions from these results, as a period of two years is probably necessary to evaluate cadaver kidney transplantation in humans, it appears that our well-matched patients have much fewer problems than our

Microalbuminuria and hyperfiltration in subjects with nephro-urological disorders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background Microalbuminuria (MA) has been shown to be an early biomarker of renal damage. It is postulated that MA is the early result of hyperfiltration, which could evolve into glomerular sclerosis and renal failure if hyperfiltration is left untreated.
