Unobserved Worker Quality and Inter‐Industry Wage Differentials*
Abstract This study quantitatively assesses two alternative explanations for inter‐industry wage differentials: worker heterogeneity in the form of unobserved quality and firm heterogeneity in the form of a firm's willingness to pay (WTP) for workers' productive attributes.

We evaluated 20‐year occupancy trends of coastal waterbirds wintering inside and outside protected areas (PAs) along Canada's Pacific coast. Occupancy declines were the greatest in older PAs concentrated at lower latitudes, with cold‐tolerant, migratory benthivores and piscivores shifting farther north or to cold‐water fjords.

The Amises: Lucky Jim vs. The Rachel Papers
With all the literary and political differences between father and son, what is striking about their literary careers is the way they parallel each other: Kingsley was thirty-one when his first novel, Lucky Jim, was published (1953); Martin was twenty – four when he published The Rachel Papers (1973). Lucky Jim was a runaway best seller and a book that
