Cross‐Validation in AMMI and GGE Models: A Comparison of Methods
Crop Science, 2017In plant breeding, the interaction of genotypes and environments is of major interest for breeders to develop genotypes that are well adapted to target environments. To investigate this interaction, multi‐environmental trials, which are typically laid out as randomized complete block designs (RCBD) or as resolvable incomplete block designs (rIBD ...

Stability Analyses using Regression and AMMI Models for Seed Yield in Blackgram
LEGUME RESEARCH - AN INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL, 2020Background: Blackgram is an important pulse crop grown in almost all agro ecological zones in India. One of the major limitations of pulse cultivation in India is lack of superior genotypes with better adaptation to local conditions. Hence developing high yielding stable blackgram genotypes becomes a necessity to improve the area and production across ...

Selection of sunflower inbreds based on stability analysis using AMMI model
Journal of Oilseeds Research, 2023Stability analysis for seed yield and oil content using AMMI model was carried among 44 sunflower inbreds evaluated in four growing seasons from spring 2018 to 2021. Higher variation was observed among the inbreds for seed yield in comparison to oil content across the years.

Testing multiplicative terms in AMMI and GGE models for multienvironment trials with replicates
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2019For analysing multienvironment trials with replicates, a resampling-based method is proposed for testing significance of multiplicative interaction terms in AMMI and GGE models, which is superior compared to contending methods in robustness to heterogeneity of variance.

The use of AMMI model in analysis of GEI

Adaptability of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) genotypes analysed using a Bayesian AMMI model
Crop & Pasture Science, 2019Cotton (Gossypium spp.) provides ~90% of the world’s textile fibre. The aim of this study was to use the principal additive effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) model under the Bayesian approach to recommend cotton genotypes for the Central-West region of Brazil.

Targeting Genotypes onto Winter Wheat Growing Environments Using AMMI Model Analysis
Cereal research communications, 2008Genotype by environment interaction (GEI) is a topic of continuous interest for plant breeders. Winter wheat data were subjected to the Additive Main Effects and Multiplicative Interaction (AMMI) analysis. Results indicated a significant GEI for grain yield and its components that influenced the relative ranking of the genotypes across the environments.
