Ammolactone, a guaianolide from a medicinal plant, Ammodaucus leucotrichus

Phytochemistry, 1997
Ammodaucus leucotrichus afforded, in addition to common monoterpenoids, a new guaianolide ammolactone-A. Treatment with one equivalent of base and relactonization is a good means of purification. Treatment with excess alkali gave ammolactone-B with a different ring closure.
