Borane-Catalyzed Transfer Hydrogenations of Pyridines with Ammonia Borane
Organic Letters, 2016With the use of ammonia borane as a hydrogen source, a borane catalyzed metal-free transfer hydrogenation of pyridines was successfully realized for the first time to furnish a variety of piperidines in 44-88% yields with moderate to excellent cis-selectivities.

Ammonia-mediated, large-scale synthesis of ammonia borane
Dalton Trans., 2014The presence of NH3 allows a high concentration, ambient temperature synthesis of ammonia borane from sodium borohydride in air using reagent-grade THF.

Ammonia Borane Based-Propellants
44th AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference & Exhibit, 2008The combustion of ammonia borane (AB) is studied as a potential fuel or propellant ingredient for propulsion applications. Theoretical equilibrium analyses indicate that due to the high hydrogen content of AB and moderate exothermicity of decomposition, it has the potential to boost Isp, thereby increase performance.

Efficient Catalysis of Ammonia Borane Dehydrogenation
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2006In the presence of an iridium pincer complex, dehydrogenation of ammonia borane (H3NBH3) occurs rapidly at room temperature in tetrahydrofuran to generate 1.0 equivalent of H2 and [NH2BH2]5. A metal borohydride complex has been isolated as a dormant form of the catalyst which can be reactivated by reaction with H2.

Ruthenium-Catalyzed Dehydrogenation of Ammonia Boranes
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2008The dehydrogenation of ammonia borane (AB) and methylammonia borane (MeAB) is shown to be catalyzed by several Ru-amido complexes. Up to 1 equiv of H2 (1.0 system wt %) is released from AB by as little as 0.03 mol % Ru within 5 min, and up to 2 equiv of H2 (3.0 system wt %) are released from MeAB with 0.5 mol % Ru in under 10 min at room temperature ...

Hydrazine borane-induced destabilization of ammonia borane, and vice versa
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2014In the field of solid-state chemical hydrogen storage, ammonia borane NH3BH3 has been widely studied while hydrazine borane N2H4BH3 can be considered as a "novel" material. In the present work, we investigated the behaviour of these boranes when mixed together in a mole ratio of 1:1. Hydrazine borane and ammonia borane destabilize each other.

The role of ammonia in promoting ammonia borane synthesis
Dalton Transactions, 2016Mechanistic studies point toward added ammonia acting as a reagent while promoting the high-yielding synthesis of pure ammonia borane from sodium borohydride and ammonium salts.

Borane−Ammonia Complexes Stabilized by Hydrogen Bonding
Organic Letters, 2002Novel boron-ammonia complexes, wherein an NH(3) molecule is tightly bound through all four of its atoms, have been prepared and studied. The solid-state structure of ortho MOM-phenyllithium is reported. [reaction: see text]

Reductive amination using ammonia borane
Tetrahedron Letters, 2010Abstract A variety of primary, secondary, and tertiary amines were prepared in 84–95% yields using ammonia borane for the reductive amination of aldehydes and ketones in the presence of titanium isopropoxide.

Hydrolysis of solid ammonia borane
Journal of Power Sources, 2010Abstract Ammonia borane NH3BH3 is a promising hydrogen storage material by virtue of a theoretical gravimetric hydrogen storage capacity (GHSC) of 19.5 wt%. However, stored hydrogen has to be effectively released, one way of recovering this hydrogen being the metal-catalyzed hydrolysis.
