Synthesis of Ammonium Dinitramide by Nitration of Potassium and Ammonium Sulfamate. The Effect of Sulfamate Conterion on ADN Purity [PDF]
Nitration of potassium sulphamate was carried out using a mixture of sulphuric and nitric acid at -30 °C. The reaction time was optimized at the mole ratio of sulphuric to nitric acid of (1:3.5).

Synthesis and performance analysis of ammonium dinitramide [PDF]
Ammonium dinitramide as non-corrosive, high performance, and Eco-friendly propellant was first synthesized by Russians in early 1970s, and then independently in early 1990s by Stanford Research International. Since then, there has been increased interest in its synthesis and performance analysis.

Characterisation and thrust measurements from electrolytic decomposition of Ammonium Dinitramide (ADN) based liquid monopropellant FLP-103 in MEMS thrusters [PDF]
Although Ammonium Dinitramide (ADN) has been targeted as a potential green monopropellant in future space vehicles, its application potential in Micro-electrical-Mechanical System (MEMS) thrusters or microthrusters have seldom reported in open literature.

The Role of Thrusters in Space Systems [PDF]
Spacecrafts, such as artificial satellites and space probes have small rockets called thrusters for orbital maneuvering, and satellite attitude control. These thrusters produce thrust by exhausting gases from their nozzles.

Proton transfer in gas-phase ammonium dinitramide clusters
Proton transfer in gaseous ammonium dinitramide (ADN) clusters up to (ADN)2 is studied by using density-functional theory. Proton transfer between the hydrogen dinitramide and ammonia units does not occur in the ADN monomer, rather the ammonia ...

Ammonium dinitramide [NH4N(NO2)2, ADN] is considered as a possible replacement for ammonium perchlorate (AP) in nearly all kind of solid rocket propulsions in the coming future. The reason to use ADN instead of AP in solid rocket propulsion is because of

The anomalous solid state decomposition of ammonium dinitramide: a matter of surface polarization
Polarized dinitramide anions on the surface of solid ammonium dinitramide (ADN) have a decomposition barrier that is reduced by 16 kcal mol(-1) and explain the anomalous solid state decomposition of ...

Development of NMP‐001, A Nitromethane‐Based Green Propellant
ABSTRACT This paper discusses the development of a model monopropellant that is aimed at exploring the applicability of nitromethane‐based propellants as an alternative to hydrazine. This approach addresses the challenges faced by HAN‐, ADN‐based propulsion by being more cost‐effective while providing similar performance figures.
