Rocket Solid Propellant Alternative Based on Ammonium Dinitramide [PDF]
Due to the continuous run for a green environment the current article proposes a new type of solid propellant based on the fairly new synthesized oxidizer, ammonium dinitramide (ADN).

AbstractFine porous ammonium perchlorate (PAP) has small holes in its crust, and the voids in the particles are connected to the outside. The porosity of PAP results in fine bubble contamination in a propellant because the voids in PAP cannot be completely charged with a binder.

The NAS Perchlorate Review: Questions Remain about the Perchlorate RfD [PDF]
Human exposure to perchlorate is commonplace because it is a contaminant of drinking water, certain foods, and breast milk. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) conducted a perchlorate risk assessment in 2002 that yielded a reference dose (RfD)

Bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ammonium perchlorate
The title compound, C14H18N3+·ClO4−, a perchlorate salt of the monoprotonated form of bis(2-pyridylethyl)amine, has a structure in which one of the two H atoms on the amine N atom forms hydrogen bonds to the two pyridyl N atoms in a chelating fashion, while the second H atom on the amine is also used in hydrogen bonding to a perchlorate O atom.

A Carbocation Substituted Clay and its Styrene nanocomposite [PDF]
A substituted tropylium ion can be ion-exchanged onto montmorillonite to give a novel organically-modified clay. One can prepare a polystyrene nanocomposite of this clay by emulsion, but not bulk, polymerization.

Assessment of the effect of borides on the thermodynamic characteristics of heterogeneous systems
The possibility of creating high-energy materials with increased ecological purity of combustion products based on a mixed oxidizer (ammonium nitrate, ammonium perchlorate), and inorganic fuel (boron, diboride or aluminum polyboride) is shown.
