Amniotic fluid index versus maximum vertical pocket measurement in predicting perinatal outcome at 40 weeks or beyond

open access: yes, 2018
Background: The aim of this study is to compare the use of amniotic fluid index with maximum vertical pocket for predicting perinatal outcomes. Methods: The present study was a prospective observational study and includes 140 The study include normal ...

Anatomical–Motor Level Discrepancy in Prenatal Diagnosis of Open Spinal Dysraphism: A 12‐Year Retrospective Observational Study

open access: yesBJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics &Gynaecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To quantify the discrepancy between anatomical and motor levels in foetuses with open spinal dysraphism and identify prenatal factors associated with this difference. We also examined associations between anatomical level and ultrasound findings. Design Retrospective observational study.

Amniotic Fluid Volume Assessment Using the Single Deepest Pocket Technique in Bangladesh

open access: yes, 2013
BackgroundAssessment of amniotic fluid volume (AFV) is important for determining fetal well-being in the uterus. This assessment can be made subjectively or objectively by measuring the amniotic fluid pockets.MethodsSingle deepest pocket (SDP ...

Episiotomy is associated with a reduced risk of obstetric anal sphincter injury in nulliparous vacuum‐assisted deliveries, particularly in high‐risk cases

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Mediolateral episiotomy during vacuum‐assisted delivery in nulliparous women was associated with lower obstetric anal sphincter injury (1.4% vs 2.8%; adjusted odds ratio 0.42, 95% CI 0.25–0.70). The protective effect was greater when intrapartum risk factors were present, including prolonged second stage, occiput posterior position, and birthweight ...

Ultrasound evaluation of amniotic fluid volume: methods and clinical accuracy

open access: yes, 2004
Ultrasound evaluation of amniotic fluid volume (AFV) is frequently used to detect fetuses at high risk for an adverse outcome - an event that is often correlated with AFV abnormalities.

Physiological cardiotocography interpretation and neonatal morbidity: A historical pre–post cohort study in a tertiary perinatal center

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
In this historical pre–post cohort study, the implementation of physiological cardiotocography (PCI) interpretation was associated with reduced neonatal morbidity, neonatal acidosis, and neonatal unit admission. Adjusted cesarean section rates did not increase, supporting PCI as a promising approach to intrapartum fetal surveillance.

Longitudinal measurement of amniotic fluid index in term pregnancies and its association with intrapartum fetal distress

open access: yes, 1997
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the dynamic changes in serially obtained amniotic fluid index values and to determine any association with intrapartum fetal distress in a term ...

Self‐administered tele‐ultrasound in fetal telemonitoring: Prospective study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Pregnant women successfully performed self‐administered fetal tele‐ultrasound at home with real‐time guidance. Scans were feasible, accurate, and highly usable, highlighting tele‐ultrasound's potential to improve accessibility, patient engagement, and support hospital‐at‐home obstetric care.

Home telemonitoring in high‐risk pregnancies: A Finnish retrospective cohort study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
This retrospective study suggests that home telemonitoring may provide an acceptable approach for managing selected high‐risk pregnancies. Safe and effective implementation requires careful patient selection and adherence to evidence‐based clinical protocols.
