We study a statistical model of random plane partitions. The statistical model has interpretations as five-dimensional [Formula: see text] supersymmetric SU (N) Yang–Mills on ℝ4× S1and as Kähler gravity on local SU (N) geometry. At the thermodynamic limit a typical plane partition called the limit shape dominates in the statistical model.

Lopsided approximation of amoebas [PDF]
The amoeba of a Laurent polynomial is the image of the corresponding hypersurface under the coordinatewise log absolute value map. In this article, we demonstrate that a theoretical amoeba approximation method due to Purbhoo can be used efficiently in practice.

Can testate amoeba-based palaeohydrology be extended to fens? [PDF]
Numerous palaeoecological studies have used testate amoeba analysis to reconstruct Holocene hydrological change in peatlands, and thereby past climatic change.

Amoeba species colonizing the gills of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in Swiss aquaculture. [PDF]
Nodular gill disease (NGD) is an infectious condition characterized by proliferative gill lesions leading to respiratory problems, oxygen deficiency and mortality in fish.

Filters of the Spatial-Variant amoeba morphology can preserve edges better, but with too much noise being left. For better denoising, this paper presents a new method to generate structuring elements for Spatially-Variant amoeba morphology.

Traditional cysticidal assays for Acanthamoeba species revolve around treating cysts with compounds and manually observing the culture for evidence of excystation. This method is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and low throughput. We adapted and trained

Current Status of AMOEBA–IL: A Multipolar/Polarizable Force Field for Ionic Liquids
Computational simulations of ionic liquid solutions have become a useful tool to investigate various physical, chemical and catalytic properties of systems involving these solvents.

Response of the protistan community of a rice field soil to different oxygen tensions [PDF]
Heterotrophic protists in soil are grazers that control the biomass and community structure of bacteria, thereby enhancing nutrient recycling. Oxygen regulates the microeukaryotic community, but little is known about its response to microoxic conditions.

AMOEBA Polarizable Atomic Multipole Force Field for Nucleic Acids
The AMOEBA polarizable atomic multipole force field for nucleic acids is presented. Valence and electrostatic parameters were determined from high-level quantum mechanical data, including structures, conformational energy and electrostatic potentials, of

Neurofibromin controls macropinocytosis and phagocytosis in Dictyostelium
Cells use phagocytosis and macropinocytosis to internalise bulk material, which in phagotrophic organisms supplies the nutrients necessary for growth. Wildtype Dictyostelium amoebae feed on bacteria, but for decades laboratory work has relied on axenic ...
