Diversity of Myxomycetes in arid zones of Peru part II: the cactus belt and transition zones

open access: yesAnales del Jardín Botánico de Madrid, 2019
The results obtained from a second survey for Myxomycetes in the arid areas of Peru are reported. A total of 37 localities from the cactus belt (‘cardonal’), between 1500 and 3000 m a.s.l., were sampled over six years.

Two-gene phylogeny of bright-spored Myxomycetes (slime moulds, superorder Lucisporidia). [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Myxomycetes, or plasmodial slime-moulds, are one of the largest groups in phylum Amoebozoa. Nonetheless, only ∼10% are in the database for the small subunit (SSU) ribosomal RNA gene, the most widely used gene for phylogenetics and barcoding.

Myxomycete diversity in the coastal desert of Peru with emphasis on the lomas formations

open access: yesAnales del Jardín Botánico de Madrid, 2016
Results obtained from the first survey for myxomycetes in the hyperarid areas of Peru are reported. Sampling over three consecutive years was carried out at 96 localities between 0 and 1500 m elevation.

Did terrestrial diversification of amoebas (amoebozoa) occur in synchrony with land plants? [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Evolution of lineage diversification through time is an active area of research where much progress has been made in the last decade. Contrary to the situation in animals and plants little is known about how diversification rates have evolved in most ...

Comprehensive phylogenetic reconstruction of amoebozoa based on concatenated analyses of SSU-rDNA and actin genes. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Evolutionary relationships within Amoebozoa have been the subject of controversy for two reasons: 1) paucity of morphological characters in traditional surveys and 2) haphazard taxonomic sampling in modern molecular reconstructions.

Mixomicetes asociados con Avicennia germinans y Laguncularia racemosa en un manglar de El Salvador

open access: yesRevista Minerva, 2022
Los estudios de mixomicetes en ecosistemas de manglar no son comunes; principalmente se han llevado a cabo en Brasil. En esta investigación, se realizó el primer muestreo de mixomicetes asociados a dos especies de plantas de manglar en El Salvador, y ...
