Amorphous Silicon Alloy Photoreceptors
SPIE Proceedings, 1986Amorphous silicon (a-Si) alloy semiconductors are becoming increasingly important in electrophotographic applications. Photoreceptor devices based on these materials exhibit improved performance for many applications and photocopiers and laser printers using these devices are now in commercial production.

Amorphization by mechanical alloying
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1990The solid state amorphization methods of mechanical alloying (MA) of mixtures of elemental powders and mechanical milling (MM) of single component powder (intermetallic compound or element) are discussed. The mechanism for amorphization by MA is probably a variation of amorphization by interdiffusion of thin film diffusion couples with the added ...

Ultrafine amorphous alloy particles
Hyperfine Interactions, 1992Different techniques for the preparation of amorphous alloy particles are reviewed. Special attention is made to the studies of the preparation and the physical properties of ultrafine amorphous iron-boron and iron-carbon alloy particles. The properties of the ultrafine alloy particles are in most cases similar to those of bulk amorphous alloys of the ...

Publisher Summary Amorphous alloys are defined as solids lacking long-range three-dimensional atomic periodicity. In diffraction experiments, which comprise X-ray diffraction, neutron diffraction, and electron diffraction, such alloys are characterized by the absence of sharp diffraction peaks.
