Critical dynamics of ferromagnets [PDF]
The crossover in the dynamics from isotropic to dipolar critical behaviour has been a matter of debate over many years. We review a mode coupling theory for dipolar ferromagnets which gives a unified explanation of the seemingly contradictory ...

Correlation between magnetism and spin-dependent transport in CoFeB alloys [PDF]
We report a correlation between the spin polarization of the tunneling electrons (TSP) and the magnetic moment of amorphous CoFeB alloys. Such a correlation is surprising since the TSP involves s-like electrons close to the Fermi level (EF), while the ...

Kinetics of crystallization of FeB-based amorphous alloys studied by neutron thermo-diffractometry [PDF]
Kinetics of crystallization of two amorphous alloys, Fe70Cr10B20 and Fe80Zr10B10, have been followed up by neutron thermodiffractometry experiments performed in the two axis diffractometer D20 (ILL, Grenoble).

The paper considers a special class of structural materials — amorphous alloys. Unlike crystalline alloys, there is no translation symmetry in the arrangement of atoms in amorphous alloys, which have only short-range atomic order.

Interfacial instability-driven amorphization/nanocrystallization in a bulk Ni45Cu5Ti33Zr16Si1 alloy during solidification [PDF]
We report on experimental evidence for local amorphization/nanocrystallization at the interfaces between the B2-ordered Ni(Ti,Zr) phase and the NiTiZr phase with P63/mmc during solidification of a multicomponent Ni45Cu5Ti33Zr16Si1 alloy. So far there are

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Formation of ferromagnetic bulk amorphous Fe40Ni40P14B6 alloys [PDF]
Ferromagnetic bulk amorphous Fe40Ni40P14B6 alloy rods with a diameter of 1.2 mm can be prepared by means of a rapid quenching technique. If a fluxing technique is also used, amorphous rods with a diameter as large as 2.5 mm can be synthesized.

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
