We report cerium-based bulk metallic glasses with an exceptionally low glass transition temperature Tg, similar to or lower than that of many polymers. We demonstrate that, in near-boiling water, these materials can be repeatedly shaped, and can thus be regarded as metallic plastics.

Amorphous Metal–Organic Frameworks
Accounts of Chemical Research, 2014Crystalline metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous frameworks comprising an infinite array of metal nodes connected by organic linkers. The number of novel MOF structures reported per year is now in excess of 6000, despite significant increases in the complexity of both component units and molecular networks.

Nanomoulding with amorphous metals
Nature, 2009Nanoimprinting promises low-cost fabrication of micro- and nano-devices by embossing features from a hard mould onto thermoplastic materials, typically polymers with low glass transition temperature. The success and proliferation of such methods critically rely on the manufacturing of robust and durable master moulds.

Thermoplastic forming of amorphous metals
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2020Amorphous metals display an extraordinary mechanical strength and elasticity and can at the same time be formed like thermoplastic polymers. These properties make them the ideal material for industrial applications where complex parts have to withstand high mechanical loads.
