Structural and magnetic anisotropy of directionally-crystallized ferromagnetic microwires

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Amorphous ferromagnetic microwires have drawn attention primarily due to their excellent soft magnetic properties as the elements of sensors. In this work, semi-hard magnetic microwires of composition Fe4.3Co67.7Si11B14Cr3 were obtained after a process ...

Bulk fabrication and properties of solar grade silicon microwires

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2014
We demonstrate a substrate-free novel route for fabrication of solar grade silicon microwires for photovoltaic applications. The microwires are fabricated from low purity starting material via a bulk molten-core fibre drawing method.

Fast Magnetization Switching in Amorphous Microwires

open access: yesActa Physica Polonica A, 2014
We studied the magnetization switching in magnetically bistable amorphous ferromagnetic microwires. We observed quite fast domain wall propagation along the microwires and a correlation between the magnetoelastic anisotropy, distribution of the local nucleation eld along the length of microwire and the domain wall dynamics.

Magnetic properties of short amorphous microwires

open access: yesJournal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1999
Magnetic properties of amorphous Fe- and Co-rich wires with different magnetostriction are studied in dependence on their length 8 mmL28 mm. For Co-rich wires a critical wire length L* is estimated. It is shown that for L[removed]

Technology, Preparation and Properties of the Cast Glass-Coated Magnetic Microwires

open access: yesCrystals, 2017
Magnetic properties of cast amorphous and nanocrystalline microwires have been reviewed considering their potential application. Microwires were produced from Co Fe Mn Cr Cu B and Si using the Taylor–Ulitovsky method.

Fabrication and electrical transport properties of embedded graphite microwires in a diamond matrix

open access: yes, 2017
Micrometer width and nanometer thick wires with different shapes were produced $\approx 3~\upmu$m below the surface of a diamond crystal using a microbeam of He$^+$ ions with 1.8~MeV energy.

Excellent magnetocaloric properties of melt-extracted Gd-based amorphous microwires [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We report upon the excellent magnetocaloric properties of Gd53Al24Co20Zr3 amorphous microwires. In addition to obtaining the large magnetic entropy change (-DSM rv 10.3 J/kg K at TC rv 95 K), an extremely large value of refrigerant capacity (RC rv 733.4 ...

Magnetostatic bias in multilayer microwires: theory and experiments

open access: yes, 2011
The hysteresis curves of multilayer microwires consisting of a soft magnetic nucleus, intermediate non-magnetic layers, and an external hard magnetic layer are investigated.

Bechgaard Salt‐Like Polymers and Their Applications in Organic Electronics

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
The report presents a flexible conducting polymer micro‐wire grown from the vapor phase via an oxidative polymerization route. Electrical measurements show that the produced micro‐wires have relatively high conductivity and non‐linear electrical characteristics.

Impact of structural disorder on the magnetic ordering and magnetocaloric response of amorphous Gd-based microwires. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We have studied the impact of structural disorder on the magnetic ordering and magnetocaloric response of amorphous Gd 68 Ni 32 and Gd 53 Al 24 Co 20 Zr 3 microwires.
