This study challenges the idea that Sit4‐associated protein subunit 3 (SAPS3) inhibits the energy‐sensing enzyme AMP‐activated protein kinase (AMPK) in muscle and liver tissue. Although SAPS3 interacts with AMPK in cultured cells, we found no such interaction in human or mouse tissues subjected to fasting, exercise, or a high‐fat diet.

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our

Safety hazards associated with the charging of lithium/sulfur dioxide cells [PDF]
A continuing research program to assess the responses of spirally wound, lithium/sulfur dioxide cells to charging as functions of charging current, temperature, and cell condition prior to charging is described.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Monotonicity of nonpluripolar products and complex Monge–Ampère equations with prescribed singularity [PDF]
We establish the monotonicity property for the mass of non-pluripolar products on compact Kahler manifolds, and we initiate the study of complex Monge-Ampere type equations with prescribed singularity type. Using the variational method of Berman-Boucksom-

TREX1, a predator for treating MSI‐H tumors?
Immunotherapy benefits many patients; yet, some with MSI‐H tumors remain unresponsive despite their high immunogenicity. Xu et al. reveal that TREX1 enables immune evasion by degrading cytosolic DNA and suppressing cGAS–STING–IFN‐I signaling. TREX1 loss restores DNA sensing, increases CD8+ T and NK cell infiltration, and boosts antitumor immunity ...

Iterative methods for k-Hessian equations
On a domain of the n-dimensional Euclidean space, and for an integer k=1,...,n, the k-Hessian equations are fully nonlinear elliptic equations for k >1 and consist of the Poisson equation for k=1 and the Monge-Ampere equation for k=n.
