Raman spectroscopy for crystallochemical analysis of Mg‐rich layered silicates: Serpentine and talc

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 54, Issue 12, Page 1502-1516, December 2023., 2023
Combined Raman‐scattering and WD‐EMP analyses of series of natural serpentine and talc minerals demonstrate that Raman spectroscopy can be used for the quantification of M‐site Mg and (Fe2+ + Mn2+) amounts in talc as well as M‐site Mg and Fe2+ contents in serpentines with relative uncertainties below 5%.
