EMBRYONIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE BRITTLE-STARAMPHIPHOLIS KOCHIIIN LABORATORY CULTURE
The embryonic development of the brittle-star Amphipholis kochii, from fertilization through metamorphosis, was observed in a laboratory culture. Oocytes from spawning induced by a sudden change of sea water temperature remain in the first meiotic metaphase until fertilization.
