Overcoming resistance of Candida albicans using photodynamic inactivation
The rising resistance of Candida albicans to conventional antifungals, like Amphotericin B (AmB), highlights the need for alternative treatments. This study evaluated the antifungal effectiveness of combining AmB with photodynamic inactivation (PDI) using curcumin as a photosensitizer.

Out of 274 lung transplant (LTx) patients, 89 (32%) developed invasive aspergillosis IA. Factors associated with IA were mycophenolate mofetil use, airway stenosis, Aspergillus cultured pre‐LTx, chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD), and acute rejection. The role of nebulized amphotericin B and statins for prevention of IA remains unclear. ABSTRACT
