Current-feedback amplifiers versus voltage operational amplifiers

This paper compares the main performance parameters of the current feedback opamp (CFOA) with those of a conventional voltage opamp (VOA). To make the comparison effective, a folded cascode VOA is considered (which is characterized by similar features and topology) and the same power consumption was assumed for both amplifiers.

Amplified spontaneous emission in Cassegrainian amplifiers

We consider all possible paths for amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) in multipass laser amplifiers using a Cassegrainian telescope geometry. In particular, we study ASE which is reflected back into the medium off the telescope mirrors themselves. These ASE components are unavoidable in this amplifier geometry.
