Distributed Amplify-and-Forward Cooperation Through Message Partitioning

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2011
This paper proposes a message partitioning-based distributed amplify-and-forward (MPDAF) cooperative scheme. In this scheme, the message transmitted by a user is partitioned into several equal parts, each of which will be relayed by a different user. It enables the cooperative users to share the relaying burden in a distributed network.

Reliable amplify-and-forward two-way relay networks

2009 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing, 2009
In a two-way relay network, two terminals exchange information with the help of a relay. Due to its fundamental and practical importance, there has been an increasing interest in this channel. Recently, the notation of bottleneck error exponent has been introduced which is the worst exponent decay between the two links, gives us insight into the ...

Multicarrier HF communications with amplify-and-forward relaying

2011 IEEE 22nd International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2011
High-frequency (HF) radio communication has been recognized as the primary means for long-range wireless communications since the advent of radio. With its unique features, HF communication continues to be used for a wide range of civilian, government and military applications as a powerful alternative to a myriad of more sophisticated communication ...

Jamming in Dual-Hop Amplify-and-Forward Relaying

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2015
The performance of a dual-hop amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying system in the presence of a jammer is analyzed by obtaining the end-to-end outage probability for the scenario where the system is interference limited and operates in either Nakagami-0.5 or Rayleigh fading environments.

Diversity in relaying protocols with amplify and forward

GLOBECOM '03. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37489), 2004
We examine a network consisting of one source, one destination and two amplifying and forwarding relays and consider a scenario in which destination and relays can have various processing limitations. For all possible diversity combining schemes at the relays and at the destination, we find diversity order results analytically and confirm our findings ...

Power bargaining for amplify and forward relay channel

2009 Fourth International Conference on Communications and Networking in China, 2009
We consider a system of two user terminals, both of which are capable of acting as relay stations for each others. We consider a simple scenario where the user equipment that acts as an amplify-and-forward relay station tries to sell its data rate at some fixed price to the user equipment that acts as a source station.

Noncoherent Detection in Amplify-and-Forward Relay Systems

IEEE GLOBECOM 2008 - 2008 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2008
In amplify-and-forward single-relay systems that employ an average relay power constraint, one-shot detection at the destination terminal is not optimal when the channel between the source and relay terminals is unknown. In this work, we derive the maximum-likelihood (ML) block noncoherent detector and show that it can be expressed as a reduced-rank ...

Amplify-and-forward relaying under I/Q imbalance

2012 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2012
We analyze the outage performance of relay-assisted amplify-and-forward systems under uncompensated I/Q imbalance effects and derive accurate analytical approximations for both cases. In addition, we compare the outage probability for amplify-and-forward systems with that of the direct transmission mode.

Multiple-Access Capabilities of Amplify-and-Forward Relaying

2015 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2014
This paper is concerned with the performance of a gateway connecting a group of independent users to their destinations and employ the random slotted- Aloha type protocol. The users are isolated from their destinations and the only way to communicate with their destinations is through the common gateway which acts as a blind amplify and forward relay ...

Amplify-and-Forward Scheme in Cooperative Spatial Multiplexing

2007 16th IST Mobile and Wireless Communications Summit, 2007
We investigate and propose a new amplify-and-forward cooperative spatial multiplexing scheme in which the transmitter (source), equipped with a single antenna, forms virtual antenna array from a collection of distributed single-antenna wireless terminals, and broadcasts identical signal to those terminals (relays).
