Physical Layer Security of an Amplify-and-Forward Energy Harvesting-Based Mixed RF/UOW System

International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking, 2019
This paper investigates the secrecy outage performance of an energy harvesting-based dual-hop amplify-and-forward (AF) mixed radio-frequency/underwater optical wireless communication (RF/UOWC) system.

Two-Way Full-Duplex Amplify-and-Forward Relaying

MILCOM 2013 - 2013 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2013
Full-duplex transmission is a promising technique to enhance the capacity of communication systems. In this paper, we investigate two-way amplify-and-forward (AF) relay systems in the full-duplex scenario. Compared with the traditional half-duplex AF relaying, the full-duplex system uses only a single phase to complete the two-way or bidirectional ...

Proactive Monitoring via Jamming in Amplify-and-Forward Relay Networks

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2017
To legitimately monitor suspicious wireless communications is an important issue. In this letter, we propose a proactive monitoring via jamming scheme over an amplify-and-forward relay network, which consists of a legitimate monitor, a suspicious source,

On Slotted Amplify-and-Forward Cooperative Diversity Schemes

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2006
All previously proposed amplify-and-forward (AF) and decode-and-forward (DF) schemes do not improve with the number of relays in terms of the diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) for multiplexing gains r higher than 0.5. In this work, we study the class of slotted amplify-and-forward (SAF) schemes.

Outage optimality of opportunistic amplify-and-forward relaying

IEEE Communications Letters, 2007
In this paper, we show that optimal selection and transmission of a single relay among a set of multiple amplify-and-forward (AF) candidates minimize the outage probability (i.e., outage-optimal) and outperform any other strategy that involves simultaneous transmissions from more than one AF relay under an aggregate power constraint.

Distributed Amplify-and-Forward Cooperation Through Message Partitioning

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2011
This paper proposes a message partitioning-based distributed amplify-and-forward (MPDAF) cooperative scheme. In this scheme, the message transmitted by a user is partitioned into several equal parts, each of which will be relayed by a different user. It enables the cooperative users to share the relaying burden in a distributed network.

Secure Transmission in Cellular Multiuser Two-Way Amplify-and-Forward Relay Networks

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2018
In this paper, we investigate the performance of secure cellular multiuser two-way amplify-and-forward relay networks, wherein one $N_{a}$-antenna base station (BS) exchanges information bidirectionally with $K$ single-antenna users (USs) by the ...

Reliable amplify-and-forward two-way relay networks

2009 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing, 2009
In a two-way relay network, two terminals exchange information with the help of a relay. Due to its fundamental and practical importance, there has been an increasing interest in this channel. Recently, the notation of bottleneck error exponent has been introduced which is the worst exponent decay between the two links, gives us insight into the ...

Multicarrier HF communications with amplify-and-forward relaying

2011 IEEE 22nd International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2011
High-frequency (HF) radio communication has been recognized as the primary means for long-range wireless communications since the advent of radio. With its unique features, HF communication continues to be used for a wide range of civilian, government and military applications as a powerful alternative to a myriad of more sophisticated communication ...

Jamming in Dual-Hop Amplify-and-Forward Relaying

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2015
The performance of a dual-hop amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying system in the presence of a jammer is analyzed by obtaining the end-to-end outage probability for the scenario where the system is interference limited and operates in either Nakagami-0.5 or Rayleigh fading environments.
