Amplify-and-Forward (AF) Relay Techniques in Wireless SC-FDE Systems to Enhance Diversity Gains

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical and Electronics Research, 2023
This paper introduces an amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying technique that employs phase dithering and intentional delay within single carrier-frequency domain equalizer (SC-FDE) systems. The proposed relaying technique aims to increase the gain of both frequency diversity and time diversity in slow fading channels.

Linear Multi-hop Amplify-and-Forward (AF) Cooperative Relay Channels [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Asia-Pacific Advanced Network, 2015
Cooperative relaying of channels between base station and user equipment emerged as a great technique to enhance the reliability and throughput of cellular networks. The relay nodes normally exploit amplify-and-forward (AF) scheme to relay the connection.

Performance Analysis Of The Energy Harvesting Techniques In Cooperative Communication Systems of NBIoT Devices With Amplify And Forward (AF) Relaying Protocol

open access: yesElinvo (Electronics, Informatics, and Vocational Education), 2023
This study examines the system’s performance with implementation of the energy harvesting (EH) techniques at source node, S and relay node, R. The RF signals which are used to energy harvesting proccess are broadcasted by destination node, D. The information signals from S are sent to D via a R in a cooperative communication framework.

Performance Analysis of Amplify and Forward (AF)-based Cooperative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks

open access: yesJournal of information and communication convergence engineering, 2013
Cognitive radio has been recently considered a promising technology to improve spectrum utilization by enabling secondary access to licensed bands that are not used by primary users temporarily or spatially. A prerequisite to this secondary access is the lack of interference to the primary system.

Memoryless Relay Strategies for Two-Way Relay Channels: Performance Analysis and Optimization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We consider relaying strategies for two-way relay channels, where two terminals transmits simultaneously to each other with the help of relays. A memoryless system is considered, where the signal transmitted by a relay depends only on its last received

A joint time-invariant filtering approach to the linear Gaussian relay problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, the linear Gaussian relay problem is considered. Under the linear time-invariant (LTI) model the problem is formulated in the frequency domain based on the Toeplitz distribution theorem.

Space-Time Communication Protocols for N-way Relay Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We address communication protocols for N-way relay networks with M antennas at the relay and a single antenna at the N source terminals. In particular, amplify-and-forward (AF), decode-and-forward (DF), and compress-and-forward (CF) strategies are ...

Performance Comparison between Adaptive and Fixed Transmit Power in Underlay Cognitive Radio Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we compare the performance in terms of symbol error probability, data rate and power consumption of the use of fixed transmit power (FTP) and adaptive transmit power (ATP) in underlay cognitive radio networks. The use of FTP alleviates the

A Low-Complexity Precoding Scheme for the Downlink of Multi-Cell Multi-User MIMO AF System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Because of its simplicity, amplify-and-forward (AF) is one of the most popular cooperative relaying technique. Relays are used in cooperative communication to improve reliability, coverage or spectral efficiency of cell-edge users.
