How to Solve the Problem of Bad Performance of Cooperative Protocols at Low SNR

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2007
We propose some new adaptive amplify-and-forward (AF) and decode-and-forward (DF) protocols using a selection. The new selection criterion is a function of the instantaneous capacities of all possible transmission schemes (with or without cooperation ...

Performance Comparison between Adaptive and Fixed Transmit Power in Underlay Cognitive Radio Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we compare the performance in terms of symbol error probability, data rate and power consumption of the use of fixed transmit power (FTP) and adaptive transmit power (ATP) in underlay cognitive radio networks. The use of FTP alleviates the

When Can a Relay Reduce End-to-End Communication Delay?

open access: yes, 2014
The impact of relaying on the latency of communication in a relay channel is studied. Both decode-forward (DF) and amplify-forward (AF) are considered, and are compared with the point-to-point (P2P) scheme which does not use the relay. The question as to

A Low-Complexity Precoding Scheme for the Downlink of Multi-Cell Multi-User MIMO AF System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Because of its simplicity, amplify-and-forward (AF) is one of the most popular cooperative relaying technique. Relays are used in cooperative communication to improve reliability, coverage or spectral efficiency of cell-edge users.

Piggybacking Codes for Network Coding: The High/Low SNR Regime

open access: yes, 2017
We propose a piggybacking scheme for network coding where strong source inputs piggyback the weaker ones, a scheme necessary and sufficient to achieve the cut-set upper bound at high/low-snr regime, a new asymptotically optimal operational regime for the

The Cramer-Rao Bound for channel estimation in block fading amplify-and-forward relaying networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we express the Cramer-Rao Bound (CRB) for channel coefficient and noise variance estimation at the destination of an Amplify-and- Forward (AF) based cooperative system, in terms of the a posteriori expectation of the codewords.

A Coalitional Formation Game for Physical Layer Security of Cooperative Compressive Sensing Multi-Relay Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Cooperative relaying is an effective technology to improve the capacity of physical-layer security, in which the relay helps forward the received signal to the destination. In this paper, a cooperative compressive sensing and amplify-and-forward (CCS-AF)

Optimization of Full-Duplex Relaying System With Non-Linear Energy Harvester

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) is a promising technique to prolong the lifetime of energy constrained relay-based systems. Most of the existing literature on relay-based SWIPT systems incorporate linear energy harvesting (EH)

Engineering tandem VHHs to target different epitopes to enhance antibody‐dependent cell‐mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tandem VHH targeting distinct EGFR epitopes were engineered into a monovalent bispecific antibody (7D12‐EGA1‐Fc) with more potent ADCC without increasing affinity to EGFR. Structural modeling of 7D12‐EGA1‐Fc showed cross‐linking of separate EGFR domains to enhance CD16a engagement on NK cells.

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.
