Period-Amplitude Co-variation in Biomolecular Oscillators

open access: yes, 2018
The period and amplitude of biomolecular oscillators are functionally important properties in multiple contexts. For a biomolecular oscillator, the overall constraints in how tuning of amplitude affects period, and vice versa, are generally unclear. Here

Therapeutic deep brain stimulation reduces cortical phase-amplitude coupling in Parkinson's disease

open access: yesNature Neuroscience, 2015
Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is increasingly applied for the treatment of brain disorders, but its mechanism of action remains unknown. Here we evaluate the effect of basal ganglia DBS on cortical function using invasive cortical recordings in Parkinson ...

Adult‐Onset Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis Presenting With Subacute Cognitive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe the case of a 41‐year‐old man diagnosed with adult‐onset subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). The patient presented with subacute progressive cognitive deficits and a neuropsychological profile indicating predominant frontoparietal dysfunction. MRI showed only mild parietal‐predominant cerebral atrophy.

SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING THE TECHNICAL CONDITION OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE BASED ON MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS OF VIBRATION

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Studies
The relevance of the topic of this study is due to the need to ensure reliable operation of vehicles and minimize the risks of interruptions in the operation of internal combustion engines (ICE).

Amplitude bounds for biochemical oscillators

open access: yes, 2017
We present a practical method to obtain bounds for the oscillation minima and maxima of large classes of biochemical oscillator models that generate oscillations through a negative feedback.

Clinically Relevant Outcome Measures in Women With Adrenoleukodystrophy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adrenoleukodystrophy is a rare inherited peroxisomal disease caused by pathogenic variants in the ABCD1 gene located on the X chromosome. Although the most severe central nervous system and adrenal complications typically affect only men with adrenoleukodystrophy, the majority of women develop myeloneuropathy symptoms in adulthood.

Parton branching at amplitude level

open access: yes, 2019
We present an algorithm that evolves hard processes at the amplitude level by dressing them iteratively with (massless) quarks and gluons. The algorithm interleaves collinear emissions with soft emissions and includes Coulomb/Glauber exchanges.

Broadband metasurface holograms: toward complete phase and amplitude engineering

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
As a revolutionary three-dimensional imaging technique, holography has attracted wide attention for its ability to photographically record a light field.

Twistors and amplitudes [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2015
A brief review is given of why twistor geometry has taken a central place in the theory of scattering amplitudes for fundamental particles. The emphasis is on the twistor diagram formalism as originally proposed by Penrose, the development of which has now led to the definition by Arkani-Hamedet al.of the ‘amplituhedron’.
