MEASUREMENT OF ACCOMMODATIVE AMPLITUDE IN AMBLYOPIA

Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, 1982
Abstract Monocular accommodative amplitudes were measured in amblyopic individuals by the subjective minus lens push‐up techniques and by the objective dynamic retinoscopy. Accommodative amplitudes were always reduced in amblyopic eyes using the minus lens and retinoscopy techniques, but not with the push‐up technique which Inflated this measure, Owing

Amplitude of Accommodation in Schoolchildren

Current Eye Research, 2016
Hofstetter's equations are based on studies of Amplitude of Accommodation (AA) with methodological limitations, particularly in the case of children younger than 10 years of age. The aim of this study is to evaluate AA by age, gender, economic status, and time of day as well as accommodative insufficiency prevalence.A cross-sectional study was ...

Critical Subjective Measurement of Amplitude of Accommodation

Optometry and Vision Science, 1994
The use of fixed print size to measure amplitude of accommodation by the push-up method will result in a range of angular sizes of the print at the nearpoint for patients with different amplitudes. We investigated the effect of this on measured amplitude of accommodation in 60 subjects aged 25 to 45 years.

AMPLITUDE OF ACCOMMODATION: POPULATION AND METHODOLOGICAL DIFFERENCES

Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, 1986
A literature survey of amplitudes of accommodation in various countries is presented. Results of push‐up and minus‐lens determination of 447 patients in Nigeria are compared with previous results. A smaller decrement in amplitude due to temperature than previously accepted is suggested.

Clinical norms for amplitude of accommodation in Chinese

Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, 1993
Amplitude of accommodation was measured in 121 Hong Kong Chinese subjects between the ages of 11 and 65 years, using the ‘push‐up’ method and the results compared with those previously obtained for Caucasian subjects. The results confirm and quantify clinical experience that Chinese people have lower amplitudes of accommodation than Caucasians.

Behavioral measurements of accommodative amplitude in rhesus monkeys

Vision Research, 1984
The extent of voluntary accommodation was investigated behaviorally in two young rhesus monkeys and an adult human using a modified minus-lens technique. Specifically, contrast sensitivity for a high spatial frequency grating was determined as a function of spectacle lens power.

Is Myopia Related to Amplitude of Accommodation?

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1997
To report the association between amplitude of accommodation and refractive error.Refractive error and amplitudes of accommodation were measured in 1,148 eyes of 696 patients as part of the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study.Eyes with myopia, defined as those with a refractive error of -0.75 diopter or more, have lower accommodative amplitudes (

Amplitude of Accommodation in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis

Current Eye Research, 2019
Purpose: To evaluate the effect of multiple sclerosis (MS) on the amplitude of accommodation (AA) and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness.Materials and Methods: A total of 25 MS patients with visual-evoked potential (VEP) abnormalities (MS/+VEP Group), 25 MS patients without VEP abnormalities (MS/-VEP Group), and 25 controls (Control Group) were
