ABSTRACT In Western Australia (WA), a coronial inquest into the death of a child who had been in care is mandatory. An inquest is a public hearing, a fact‐finding process to determine the cause of the death, prevent future deaths from occurring in similar circumstances and to comment on the public health implications.

Ontological theory for ontological engineering: Biomedical systems information integration [PDF]
Software application ontologies have the potential to become the keystone in state-of-the-art information management techniques. It is expected that these ontologies will support the sort of reasoning power required to navigate large and complex ...

A novel, simple coccygeal intervertebral disc degeneration model, using a suturing method for tail‐looping, without the need for external fixation and complex surgery. The model has high reproducibility and stability and overcomes the disadvantages of the existing animal models of disc degeneration.

Toward Natural Limb Function: A New Era in Prosthetic Innovation
The past decade has witnessed groundbreaking clinical implementation of neuroprosthetic limbs driven by signals from peripheral targets (eg, nerves and muscle) and the brain to restore limb function for individuals with limb loss or impairment. In this review, we highlight recent key clinical trials in peripheral neuroprosthetic interfaces directly ...

Sensory Changes in Adults with Unilateral Transtibial Amputation [PDF]
The purpose of this study was to describe the sensory changes in adults with unilateral transtibial amputation (TTA), as any loss of sensation may have significant impact on the successful use of a prosthesis.

Self-energy effects in the Polchinski and Wick-ordered renormalization-group approaches [PDF]
I discuss functional renormalization group (fRG) schemes, which allow for non-perturbative treatment of the self-energy effects and do not rely on the one-particle irreducible functional.

Lightweight prosthetic sockets constructed using auxetic meta‐structures can help reduce physical discomfort when compared to a similar lightweight socket featuring a nonauxetic meta‐structure. The chiral auxetic meta‐structured sockets demonstrated better contact pressure profiles at the interface between the socket and the residual limb.
