Spatial distribution drivers of Amur leopard density in northeast China

Biological Conservation, 2015
Abstract The Amur leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) is highly elusive, rare species, critically threatened with extinction worldwide. In this study, we conducted camera-trap surveys of an Amur leopard population in Jilin Province, northeast China.

Analysis of the «zoo visitor» effect on the example of the snow leopard Uncia uncia and the Amur leopard Panthera pardus orientalis

Veterinariya, Zootekhniya i Biotekhnologiya, 2021
The article presents the study results of the Moscow Zoo' visitor effect on the behavior of the snow leopard Uncia uncia and the Amur leopard Panthera pardus orientalis. It was shown that most of the time the animals were inactive or were in a shelter (on the average 86,3%). Stereotypy was typical only for the Amur leopard (19,1%).

The primary structure of hemoglobin from amur-leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis)

The Protein Journal, 1985
The complete amino acid sequence of the major component of hemoglobin from amur-leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) is presented. The major component accounts for more than 90% of the total hemoglobin. Separation of the globin subunits was achieved by ion-exchange chromatography on CM-cellulose in urea.

PATENT DUCTUS ARTERIOSUS IN AN ADULT AMUR LEOPARD (PANTHERA PARDUS ORIENTALIS)

Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine, 2013
A clinically healthy 16-yr-old female leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) was diagnosed with a patent ductus arteriosus on echocardiography and later confirmed on necropsy A murmur was heard on auscultation during a routine examination, and the congenital defect was an incidental finding. The animal had been asymptomatic its entire life.

Identifying ecological corridors for Amur tigers (Panthera tigris altaica) and Amur leopards (Panthera pardus orientalis)

Integrative Zoology, 2015
AbstractThe rapid explosion of human populations and the associated development of human‐dominated landscapes have drastically reduced and fragmented habitat for tigers (Panthera tigris) and leopards (Panthera pardus) across Asia, resulting in multiple small populations.

Distribution and abundance of Amur tiger, Amur leopard and their un-gulate prey in Hunchun National Nature Reserve, Jilin

Biodiversity Science, 2014
The Hunchun National Nature Reserve (HNNR) serves as core habitat for both Amur tiger (Pan- thera tigris altaica) and Amur leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) in Northeast China. To investigate the relative abundance of wildlife and human disturbance within the reserve, we analyzed images from a moni- toring network of 83 camera traps deployed between

Characterization and cryopreservation of Amur leopard cats (Prionailurus bengalensis euptilurus) semen collected by urethral catheterization

Theriogenology, 2018
The Amur leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis euptilurus) is a globally endangered species, and there is thus an urgent need to increase its population. The objectives of this study were to: (1) confirm the utility of urethral catheterization (UC) for semen collection from Amur leopard cats; (2) investigate proper dilution media for fresh semen; and ...

An initial coprological survey of parasitic fauna in the wild Amur leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis)

Integrative Zoology, 2020
AbstractThe Amur leopard, one of nine recently recognized subspecies of leopard, is still the most threatened by a stochastic procession of extinction. Evaluation of the potential danger to the conservation of the Amur leopard originating from disease urgently needs to be studied. Unfortunately, research on the potential risk to Amur leopards caused by
