El enfoque de Orientación Cognitiva al Desempeño Ocupacional Diario en discapacidades con origen en la infancia. [PDF]

open access: yesDev Med Child Neurol

Extinction debt and functional traits mediate community saturation over large spatiotemporal scales

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 92, Issue 11, Page 2228-2239, November 2023., 2023
This study is the first to simultaneously evaluate whether (1) community saturation can require lengthy timespans to be reached and (2) there is a limit to the number of ecological strategies that can coexist. Determining if these ideas are supported is fundamental for better understanding the possible outcomes of species invasions and climate change ...

3D pollination biology using micro‐computed tomography and geometric morphometrics in Theobroma cacao

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, Volume 11, Issue 5, September-October 2023., 2023
Abstract Premise Imaging technologies that capture three‐dimensional (3D) variation in floral morphology at micro‐ and nano‐resolutions are increasingly accessible. In herkogamous flowers, such as those of Theobroma cacao, structural barriers between anthers and stigmas represent bottlenecks that restrict pollinator size and access to reproductive ...

An elevational gradient in floral traits and pollinator assemblages in the Neotropical species Costus guanaiensis var. tarmicus in Peru

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
We analyzed floral traits and pollinator assemblages in the Neotropical species Costus guanaiensis var. tarmicus along a steep elevational gradient in Peru. Results show floral traits and pollinator assemblage variation along the elevational gradient. We examined our results considering two hypotheses: (1) local adaptation to different bee assemblages ...

Neutral‐based processes overrule niche‐based processes in shaping tropical montane orchid communities across spatial scales

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 111, Issue 8, Page 1614-1628, August 2023., 2023
High compositional turnover, even across habitats with the highest degree of human intervention, suggests that both forest‐dwelling and open‐habitat species do not easily disperse across habitats. Species dispersal is the major force of orchid community turnover and might be strongly dependent upon macroevolutionary processes and species life‐history ...

Geographical patterns of warehousing facilities in the Cape functional region, South Africa

open access: yesRegional Science Policy &Practice, Volume 15, Issue 6, Page 1317-1338, August 2023., 2023
Abstract Despite improvements in the deployment of a geographical lens in logistics studies, more research is required on the connections between spatial planning policy and the positioning of warehousing facilities. This paper aims to analyze the locational patterns of warehousing facilities in the Cape functional region, South Africa.

Successional and phenological effects on plant‐floral visitor interaction networks of a tropical dry forest

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 111, Issue 4, Page 927-942, April 2023., 2023
Our results showed that plant‐floral visitor interactions are dynamic and vary with flowering phenology and with successional changes in plant and animal diversity. Plant‐floral visitor interactions were more diverse and specialised in the late successional stages.

Patterns of leaf trait variation underlie ecological differences among sympatric tree species of Damburneya in a tropical rainforest

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, Volume 109, Issue 9, Page 1394-1409, September 2022., 2022
Abstract Premise Although ecological differentiation driven by altitude and soil is hypothesized to promote coexistence of sympatric tree species of Damburneya (Lauraceae), the mechanistic role of leaf functional variation on ecological differentiation among co‐occurring species remains unexplored.
