Food demand characteristics in Ghana: An application of the quadratic almost ideal demand systems
In typical developing countries, a one-size-fits-all policies often tend to hurt the poor and vulnerable. Specifically, in food demand studies different social groupings have characteristically heterogeneous demand functions which may require unique attention in terms of food policies.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

A Globally Flexible, Quadratic Almost Ideal Demand System: An Application for Meat Demand in Taiwan [PDF]
A new demand system, combining the quadratic almost ideal demand system and the Fourier expenditure system, is introduced. An application for meat consumption in Taiwan indicates that the new demand system fits the data well and that the restriction to ...

Application of the Inverse Almost Ideal Demand System to Welfare Analysis [PDF]
This paper presents the theoretical properties of the Inverse Almost Ideal De-mand System and applies the system on time series data for cod, herring and plaice in Denmark (1986 to 2001).

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Complete household demand system of vegetables in Ogun State, Nigeria
Fruit and vegetable consumption has been shown to be an important part of any diet leading towards good health, but little is known about the vegetable demand behaviour at finer levels of disaggregation in Nigeria.
