A new biflavonoid-C-glycoside named occidentoside, also the known (-)salipurposide and beta-sitosterol, have been isolated from the nut shells of Anacardium occidentale L. (Anacardiaceae). The structure of occidentoside has been established as tetrahydroninokiflavone-C-glucoside (III) from spectral and chemical evidence.
