Antidiarrheal Effects of Anacardium occidentale L. Leaf Powder on Newborn Chicks
To evaluate the antidiarrheal effects of Anacardium occidentale L. leaf powder, 45 two-day old White Leghorn hybrid chicks (L-33) were included in an experiment following a completely randomized design with three treatments, for 8 hours.

Technological and biotechnological processes, including fermentation with selected starter cultures, convert diverse plant raw materials into fermented plant‐based milks. These processes enhance nutritional profiles, functional and probiotic compounds, and improve physicochemical and sensory properties, supported by predictive modeling to optimize ...

Henry Trimen: Under‐appreciated pioneer in the typification of Linnaean plant names?
Abstract In 1887, Henry Trimen published a paper summarising the contents of the Hermann Herbarium, in what is now the Natural History Museum, London (BM), in terms of the plant names published by Linnaeus. Trimen referred to the Hermann specimens as types of Linnaeus's names.

Optimization of Turbidity Removal in Water Using Chemically Modified Tannins From Brazilian Species
Cationized tannins from Stryphnodendron adstringens and Mimosa tenuiflora efficiently removed water turbidity under optimized conditions. These natural coagulants demonstrated nearly 100% clarification, offering sustainable alternatives for water treatment.

ABSTRACT The study aimed to develop a high‐protein plant‐based beverage from cashew nut byproducts and evaluate its physicochemical, nutritional, sensory, and physiological properties. Three formulations were prepared using byproducts (partially defatted cashew nut cake and cashew nut protein concentrate) and submitted for sensory analysis.

Green Proteins: A Sustainable Alternative to Animal‐Based Proteins for Global Protein Security
This study highlights the drawbacks associated with animal‐based proteins, such as their contribution to greenhouse gas emissions, large‐scale land use, and worsening food insecurity. It suggests that green sources of proteins, including legumes, grains, seeds, leaves, and algae, are possible sustainable alternatives. Shifting towards these plant‐based

Interaction of reserves and osmoprotection in dwarf cashew clones under water stress
Adverse conditions such as low rainfall have led to a reduction in cashew productive areas in the Brazilian Northeast region. The use of rootstocks and scions with characteristic metabolites associated with drought tolerance influences

New cultivation techniques for cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.).
The cashew tree produces its fruits at the periphery of the canopy but experiments in Kenya showed that increasing planting distances from 6 to 15 m did not influence yields/ha although they led to increased yields/tree. Productivity can be much increased, however, by planting cashews in hedgerows 9 to 12 m apart with 2 to 3 m within rows and using a ...

Lecanicillium aphanocladii: a biocontrol agent against insect pests and phytopathogens
Recent research findings on the biocontrol potential of Lecanicillium aphanocladii fungus against insect‐pests and plant diseases were highlighted. This review indicates that several L. aphanocladii strains show great potential to be developed as multipurpose biocontrol agents active against several insect‐pests, plant diseases and plant parasitic ...
