Intra‐population variation in anadromy and reproductive life span in rainbow trout introduced in the Santa Cruz River, Argentina

Journal of Fish Biology, 2007
Scale patterns, maturational status and otolith microchemistry (strontium to calcium ratios) were analysed in sympatric anadromous and non‐anadromous rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss in the Santa Cruz River (Patagonia, Argentina) to investigate the life‐history differences of anadromous and non‐anadromous lifestyles and the association between ...

An integrated approach to studying the relationship between anadromy and iteroparity in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar)

2020
Atlantic salmon is an anadromous species capable of spawning more than once during its lifecycle, being iteroparous. Increasing conservation concern has led to increased attention being paid to the potential short-term mitigating effects that iteroparous individuals may serve to populations suffering from low juvenile to adult recruitment.
