Anaerobic co-digestion of dairy cattle manure and pear waste
Bioresource Technology, 2014Anaerobic co-digestion of pre-treated dairy cattle manure (LCM) with pear waste after a storage period (PLF) was tested at four inclusion levels: 0%, 25%, 75% and 100%. Inclusion levels consisted in the replacement of the volatile solids (VS) from the LCM with the VS from PLF keeping the organic loading rate around 1.1 ± 0.4 g SVL(-1)d(-1).

Evaluation of parameters for monitoring an anaerobic co-digestion process
Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2000The system investigated in this study is an anaerobic digester at a municipal wastewater treatment plant operating on sludge from the wastewater treatment, co-digested with carbohydrate-rich food-processing waste. The digester is run below maximum capacity to prevent overload.

[Anaerobic co-digestion of corn stalk and vermicompost].
Huan jing ke xue= Huanjing kexue, 2011The characteristics of corn stalk digested alone at different total solid (TS) loading rates and co-digestion of various proportions of corn stalk and vermicompost were investigated by batch model at 35 degrees C +/- 1 degrees C. The organic loading rates (OLRs) studied were in the range of 1.2%-6.0% TS and increasing proportions of vermicompost from ...

Microalgae Growth Using High‐Strength Wastewater Followed by Anaerobic Co‐Digestion
Water Environment Research, 2010Integration of algal biofuel production to wastewater anaerobic digestion infrastructure has the potential to increase biogas production, decrease high and variable internal nitrogen loads, and improve sludge digestibility and dewaterability. In this research, two species of microalgae, Spirulina platensis and Chlorella sp., were grown on sludge ...

Anaerobic co-digestion of septage and landfill leachate
Bioresource Technology, 1999Abstract This paper examines the operating parameters and treatment efficiency in digestion of septage with landfill leachate. Four lab-scale CSTR digesters were operated at 35 ± 1°C. Septage and leachate were mixed at the ratio of 1:0, 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1 on the basis of chemical oxygen demand (COD).
