An evaluation was made of various anesthetic techniques and agents employed in the newly developed high-pressure oxygen radiotherapeutic method. Results are reported for 334 courses of anesthesia given to patients prior to treatment with megavoltage x rays under high oxygen pressure. Reasons for anesthesia during barotherapy are discussed.
