Invisible Polymer Walls Enhance Reorientational Optical Nonlinearity in Oligothiophene‐Doped Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The polymer wall stabilized dye‐doped liquid crystals (PWLCs) enhance the sensitivity of photoinduced molecular reorientation in dye‐doped LC systems. The PWLC with an invisible polymer wall successfully reduces the threshold intensity and functions as an optical limiter under the incidence of low intensity light laser source.

Dynamic Interfacial Chemistry of Choline Chloride as Electrolyte Additive for Stable Zn‐Iodine Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Choline chloride (ChCl) additive enables dynamic interface engineering in Zn‐I2 batteries by forming hydrophobic polyiodide complexes and a Zn‐stabilizing Ch+‐rich layer under electric field modulation. This dual‐function strategy suppresses iodine hydrolysis and dendrite formation, while optimizing Zn2+ solvation and transport for high‐efficiency ...

Analog-to-digital converter survey and analysis

open access: yesIEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1999
Analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are ubiquitous, critical components of software radio and other signal processing systems. This paper surveys the state-of-the-art of ADCs, including experimental converters and commercially available parts. The distribution of resolution versus sampling rate provides insight into ADC performance limitations.

Electro‐Steric Ion Confinement in Polyelectrolyte Networks for Robust Nonvolatile Artificial Synapse

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polyelectrolyte stoichiometry governs ion transport and retention in electrolyte‐gated synaptic transistors. A PSS‐rich network creates electro‐steric ion confinement that suppresses ion back‐diffusion and stabilizes channel doping, enabling robust nonvolatile synaptic memory, linear weight updates, and low‐energy operation.
