This book chapter presents the intermediate frequency filters that are used in SSB receivers and exciters to shape the desired signal spectrum and to reduce the unwanted signals. The following topics are highlighted: passband and stopband characteristics; filter arrangements; filter types: LC filter, mechanical filter, crystal filters, and SAW filter ...

Discrete Analogs for Continuous Filters
Journal of the ACM, 1966A substitution rule for obtaining discrete analogs for continuous filters is given. Transient responses of filters related by the rule are in exact agreement. Steady-state responses are in close agreement.
