Optimal CCD readout by digital correlated double sampling

open access: yes, 2015
Digital correlated double sampling (DCDS), a readout technique for charge-coupled devices (CCD), is gaining popularity in astronomical applications. By using an oversampling ADC and a digital filter, a DCDS system can achieve a better performance than ...

High-speed, accurate analogue CMOS rank filter

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2000
A modular, low-voltage, analogue CMOS architecture for rank extraction based on the use of a simple, compact current amplifying cell is proposed. The circuit has a DC error of

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Novel digital and analogue tunable lowpass filters

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2007
The paper presents a new concept for implementing tunable lowpass filters by employing slot resonators etched in the ground plane. When RF MEMS switches are used to short-circuit the slots in the ground plane, the effective length of the slots can be varied to achieve tunability at discrete frequencies. The concept is demonstrated by considering 4-slot

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

An analogue bandpass filter realisation of the Continuous Wavelet Transform

open access: yes2007 29th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2007
The Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) is a highly useful signal processing technique for which low power implementations are desirable, for example to allow the transform to be used in battery powered, portable devices. This paper describes a Low Power CWT (LPCWT) implementation that is based around the mathematical approximation of a mother wavelet ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
