BPX preconditioners for isogeometric analysis using analysis-suitable T-splines [PDF]

open access: yesIMA Journal of Numerical Analysis, 2018
Abstract We propose and analyse optimal additive multilevel solvers for isogeometric discretizations of scalar elliptic problems for locally refined T-meshes. Applying the refinement strategy in Morgenstern & Peterseim (2015, Analysis-suitable adaptive T-mesh refinement with linear complexity. Comput. Aided Geom.

Automatic Generation of T-Splines with Extraordinary Points Based on Domain Decomposition of Quadrilateral Patches

open access: yesMathematics
Isogeometric analysis (IGA) is a numerical methodology for solving differential equations by employing basis functions that preserve the exact geometry of the domain. This approach is based on a class of mathematical functions known as NURBS (Non-Uniform

Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

Extended isogeometric analysis using analysis-suitable T-splines for plane crack problems

open access: yesMechanics, 2017
This study is dedicated to modeling cracks in plane problems by applying the recent technique analysis-suitable T-splines in the extended isogeometric analysis. A new local refinement algorithm is integrated for increasing the solution accuracy and reducing the excessive propagation of control points.

Prior Expectations Bias Confidence Judgments Through Parietal Alpha‐Band Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Humans possess the metacognitive ability to estimate the likely accuracy of their own decisions through confidence judgments. Yet, whether prior information shapes confidence and the neural mechanisms mediating such influence, remain to be determined.
