Damage mechanism analysis and load bearing capacity evaluation for field-cast bridge decks

2011 International Conference on Electric Technology and Civil Engineering (ICETCE), 2011
Many bridge inspection results shows that serious concrete spalling has occurred in the field-cast bridge deck after the bridge was put into use for couples of years. Some of them even perforated and influence the normal operation of the bridge. Some bridge decks continue to deteriorate after repairment. The paper does some research on damage mechanism

Carbon Dots as Ligand Operons to Expand Cluster Size Distribution for High Load‐bearing Liquid Superlubricity

Advanced Functional Materials
Adding additives (e.g., carbon dots, CDs) to liquid lubricants is an effective method for enhancing their load‐bearing capacity and friction reduction. However, it is challenging to simultaneously impart high load‐bearing capacity and superlubricity for ...

A Journal Bearing Simulator Bench Test for Ranking Load-Bearing Capacity: A Theoretical Analysis

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1992
<div class="htmlview paragraph">An instrument is described which allows the load bearing capacity of a lubricant to be measured under pressures, shear rates and dynamic loadings typical of those found in automotive crankshaft journal bearings. Using Newtonian lubrication approximations, a theoretical analysis of the Journal Bearing Simulator has ...

Wellhead Flange Failure Analysis and Composite Load-Bearing Capacity Under Ultrahigh Pressure

SPE Journal
Summary As the wellhead pressure escalates, wellhead equipment is confronted with a series of significant challenges that impose increasingly stringent demands on the performance and reliability of wellhead flanges. Given the current absence of design guidelines for ultrahigh pressure (UHP) wellhead equipment rated at 175 MPa, we ...

Load Bearing Capacity Analysis of Squeezed Branch and Plate Pile under Vertical and Lateral Loads

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
Considering the initial stress field and concrete damage, no-linearity caused by crack of concrete, non-linear of reinforcement, elastic-plastic of soil around pile, couple interaction between concrete and steel, non-linearity contact of interface between pile and soil, the lateral load bearing capacity of squeezed branch and plate pile under vertical ...

Probabilistic analysis of the bearing capacity of inclined loaded strip footings near cohesive slopes

International Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, 2018
The bearing capacity of strip footings has been widely investigated using deterministic methods . In practise, soil properties are spatially variable, which makes the use of the probabilistic approach seem more reliable.
