SHrinkage Covariance Estimation Incorporating Prior Biological Knowledge with Applications to High-Dimensional Data [PDF]
In ``-omic data'' analysis, information on the structure of covariates are broadly available either from public databases describing gene regulation processes and functional groups such as the Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG), or from ...

Covariance Features for Trajectory Analysis
In this work, it is demonstrated that covariance estimator methods can be used for trajectory classification. It is shown that, features obtained via shrunk covariance estimation are suitable for describing trajectories. Compared to Dynamic Time Warping, application of explained technique is faster and yields more accurate results.

Analysis of Covariance with Qualitative Data [PDF]
This paper deals with data that has a group structure. A simple example in the context of a linear regression model is E(yitlx, 1S, ar) = P'xit + ai (i = 1, ...,9 N; t = 1, ... T), where there are T observations within each of N groups. The ai are group specific parameters.

The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

General balance, combination of information and the analysis of covariance [PDF]
A resume is given of the conditions and underlying theory for general balance of an experimental design, paying particular attention to their relationships to the usual linear models for analysis of variance and the marginality relationships between the ...

CX3CL1 in Early Detection of Alzheimer's Disease: Plasma Dynamics Across Age and Disease Stages
ABSTRACT Backgrounds Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by amyloid‐beta plaques, tau tangles, and neuroinflammation. C‐X3‐C motif chemokine ligand 1 (CX3CL1, also known as fractalkine), a neuroimmune chemokine implicated in AD pathogenesis, shows inconsistent alterations in plasma/serum across studies.

Covariance Clustering: Modelling Covariance in Designed Experiments When the Number of Variables is Greater than Experimental Units [PDF]
The size and complexity of datasets resulting from comparative research experiments in the agricultural domain is constantly increasing. Often the number of variables measured in an experiment exceeds the number of experimental units composing the ...

ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive decline is a disabling and variable feature of Parkinson disease (PD). While cholinergic system degeneration is linked to cognitive impairments in PD, most prior research reported cross‐sectional associations. We aimed to fill this gap by investigating whether baseline regional cerebral vesicular acetylcholine transporter ...

Knowledge-Aided Structured Covariance Matrix Estimator Applied for Radar Sensor Signal Detection
This study deals with the problem of covariance matrix estimation for radar sensor signal detection applications with insufficient secondary data in non-Gaussian clutter. According to the Euclidean mean, the authors combined an available prior covariance
