A Macroscopic Multifractal Analysis of Parabolic Stochastic PDEs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
It is generally argued that the solution to a stochastic PDE with multiplicative noise—such as $${\dot{u}=\frac12 u''+u\xi}$$u˙=12u′′+uξ , where $${\xi}$$ξ denotes space-time white noise—routinely produces exceptionally-large peaks that are ...

Analysis of Intrinsic Mode Functions: A PDE Approach [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2010
The empirical mode decomposition is a powerful tool for signal processing. Because of its original algorithmic, recent works have contributed to its theoretical framework. Following these works, some mathematical contributions on its comprehension and formalism are provided.

Applications of PDEs inpainting to magnetic particle imaging and corneal topography [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2019
In this work we propose a novel application of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) inpainting techniques to two medical contexts. The first one concerning recovering of concentration maps for superparamagnetic nanoparticles, used as tracers in the ...

Optimal systems and group invariant solutions for a model arising in financial mathematics

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2009
We consider a bond‐pricing model described in terms of partial differential equations (PDEs). Classical Lie point symmetry analysis of the considered PDEs resulted in a number of point symmetries being admitted.

Learning local Dirichlet-to-Neumann maps of nonlinear elliptic PDEs with rough coefficients* [PDF]

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys
Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) involving high-contrast and oscillating coefficients are common in scientific and industrial applications. Numerically approximating these PDEs is a challenging task, which can be addressed, for example, through ...

Asymptotic analysis of the biharmonic Schrödinger equation with fractional damping

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems
In this paper, we study the decay behavior of solutions to the biharmonic Schrödinger equation under the effect of internal fractional damping. By employing semigroup theory and energy methods, we establish well-posedness results and investigate the long-

Unsteady mhd flow of tangent hyperbolic liquid past a vertical porous plate plate

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
The analysis in this communication addresses the unsteady MHD flow of tangent hyperbolic liquid through a vertical plate. The model on mass and heat transport is set up with Joule heating, heat generation, viscous dissipation, thermal radiation, chemical

Self‐Powered, Ultra‐Sensitive InGaAs/ITO Nanowire Radial Junction Infrared Photodiode for Low Flux Imaging at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a self‐powered InGaAs nanowire photodetector achieving single‐photon‐level sensitivity in the shortwave infrared at non‐cryogenic temperatures. The device demonstrates high‐speed imaging capabilities even under extremely low‐flux conditions.
