ACCURACY ASSESSMENT OF HEIGHTS OBTAINED FROM TOTAL STATION AND LEVEL INSTRUMENT USING TOTAL LEAST SQUARES AND ORDINARY LEAST SQUARES METHODS

open access: yesGeoplanning: Journal of Geomatics and Planning, 2016
Spirit levelling has been the traditional means of determining Reduced Levels (RL’s) of points by most surveyors.  The assertion that the level instrument is the best instrument for determining elevations of points needs to be reviewed; this is because ...

Optimization of process parameter variations on leakage current in in silicon-oninsulator vertical double gate mosfet device [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering and Sciences, 2015
This paper presents a study of optimizing input process parameters on leakage current (IOFF) in silicon-on-insulator (SOI) Vertical Double-Gate,Metal Oxide Field-Effect-Transistor (MOSFET) by using L36 Taguchi method.

Understanding one-way ANOVA using conceptual figures [PDF]

open access: yesKorean Journal of Anesthesiology, 2017
Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is one of the most frequently used statistical methods in medical research. The need for ANOVA arises from the error of alpha level inflation, which increases Type 1 error probability (false positive) and is caused by ...

Neutrosophic analysis of variance: application to university students

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems, 2019
The existing analysis of variance (ANOVA) test cannot be applied when the sample is selected from the population having come imprecise, fuzzy and uncertain observations.

Effects of chronic browsing on life‐history traits of an irruptive large herbivore population

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study aimed to determine the relationship between diet quality, body mass, and size (hind foot length), and female reproduction and sought to identify the mechanism by which high density under severe food limitations is maintained. Our results demonstrated that sika deer introduced to Nakanoshima Island have maintained high densities through high ...

Limitations Of The Analysis Of Variance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Conditions under which the analysis of variance will yield inexact p-values or would be inferior in power to a permutation test are investigated. The findings for the one-way design are consistent with and extend those of Miller (1980)

Combining transient dynamics and logistic‐asymptotic growth to study the recovery of two seabird populations after rat eradication

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study examines the demographic dynamics of two seabird populations on Tromelin Island, 15 years after the eradication of brown rats. The results indicate that these populations are in good health and are expected to continue growing until breeding sites are saturated in about a century.

The unpredictably eruptive dynamics of spruce budworm populations in eastern Canada

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
We examine historical population data for spruce budworm from several locations through the period 1930–1997, and use density‐dependent recruitment curves to test whether the pattern of population growth over time is more consistent with Royama's (1984; Ecological Monographs 54:429–462) linear R(t) model of harmonic oscillation at Green River New ...
