Animal‐Assisted Activities With Therapy Dogs in Pediatric Oncology: A Multicenter Survey of the Current Status, Implementation, and Challenges in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Animal‐assisted activities (AAAs) with therapy dogs have shown positive effects on patient well‐being and quality of life in various areas of medicine, including pediatric oncology. However, research on this topic is limited. The aim of this study is to present the current status of AAA in pediatric oncology in Germany, Austria, and

An Analog of the Neumann Problem for the 1-Laplace Equation in the Metric Setting: Existence, Boundary Regularity, and Stability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We study an inhomogeneous Neumann boundary value problem for functions of least gradient on bounded domains in metric spaces that are equipped with a doubling measure and support a Poincar\ue9 inequality.

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Gunk, Topology and Measure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
I argue that it may well be the case that space and time do not consist of points, indeed that they have no smallest parts. I examine two different approaches to such pointless spaces (to 'gunky' spaces): a topological approach and a measure theoretic ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Perimeter as relaxed Minkowski content in metric measure spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this note we prove that on general metric measure spaces the perimeter is equal to the relaxation of the Minkowski content w.r.t.\ convergence in ...

Analysis on asymmetric metric measure spaces: $q$-heat flow, $q$-Laplacian and Sobolev spaces

open access: yes
We investigate geometric analysis on metric measure spaces equipped with asymmetric distance functions. Extending concepts from the symmetric case, we introduce upper gradients and corresponding $L^q$-energy functionals as well as $q$-Laplacian in the asymmetric setting.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Boundedness and Applications of Fractional Integral Operators in Nonlocal Problems with Fractional Laplacians

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, we investigate the properties of the boundedness of fractional integral operators Kα defined on general measure metric spaces. We study their action in Lebesgue spaces Lp(Y), Morrey spaces Lφp(Y), and extend our analysis to fractional ...
