Acoustic waves interacting with non–locally reacting surfaces in a Lagrangian framework
Abstract The paper deals with a family of evolution problems arising in the physical modeling of small amplitude acoustic phenomena occurring in a fluid, bounded by a surface of extended reaction. They are all derived in a Lagrangian framework. We study well‐posedness of these problems, their mutual relations, and their relations with other evolution ...

Conformal optimization of eigenvalues on surfaces with symmetries
Abstract Given a conformal action of a discrete group on a Riemann surface, we study the maximization of Laplace and Steklov eigenvalues within a conformal class, considering metrics invariant under the group action. We establish natural conditions for the existence and regularity of maximizers. Our method simplifies the previously known techniques for

Let S be a semigroup, C(S) the automaton constructed from the right Cayley graph of S with respect to all of S as the generating set and ∑(C(S)) the automaton semigroup constructed from C(S). Such semigroups are termed Cayley automaton semigroups. For

Growth problems in diagram categories
Abstract In the semisimple case, we derive (asymptotic) formulas for the growth rate of the number of summands in tensor powers of the generating object in diagram/interpolation categories.

On Endomorphism Universality of Sparse Graph Classes
ABSTRACT We show that every commutative idempotent monoid (a.k.a. lattice) is the endomorphism monoid of a subcubic graph. This solves a problem of Babai and Pultr and the degree bound is best‐possible. On the other hand, we show that no class excluding a minor can have all commutative idempotent monoids among its endomorphism monoids. As a by‐product,

Attractors for an Energy‐Damped Viscoelastic Plate Equation
ABSTRACT In this paper, we consider a class of non‐autonomous beam/plate equations with an integro‐differential damping given by a possibly degenerate memory and an energy damping given by a nonlocal ε$$ \varepsilon $$‐perturbed coefficient. For each ε>0$$ \varepsilon >0 $$, we show that the dynamical system generated by the weak solutions of the ...

Convolution operators and the discrete Laplacian
PhDIn this thesis, we obtain new results for convolution operators on homogeneous spaces and give applications to the Laplacian on a homogeneous graph. Some of these results have been published in joint papers [13, 14] with my supervisor.

Étale groupoids and Steinberg Algebras : a concise introduction
In the last couple of years, étale groupoids have become a focal point in several areas of mathematics. The convolution algebras arising from étale groupoids, considered both in analytical setting [50] and algebraic setting [23, 54], include many deep ...
